Staff at Nakawa Chief Magistrate attending ECCMIS training

Ms Rweju kicked off the week's awareness programme on Monday (September 28, 2020) at the Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court.

Magistrates Grade one; HW Khainza Beatrice and HW Angura Fionah Sheila joined staff to get first-hand information on how the ultra-modern court system will work.

Ms Rweju pointed out that ECCMIS; which is fully funded by the Government; is an upgrade of the existing ICT infrastructure; and took the staff through ECCMIS' features, benefits, processes, functionality, integration with other systems implementation plan, challenges and general overview.

"Automation in Judiciary isn't new, we have CCAS, recording system, video conferencing, among others. So we are building on what is available," she said, assuring that interventions are being devised to mitigate the anticipated challenges, such as unreliable power supply.

The staff members pledged full support for the same.
